Eleanor Trenum

Eleanor Mae Trenum (née Green), 90, of Westernport, MD, passed away peacefully on May 8th, 2026 at Sterling Care Nursing Home in Frostburg, Maryland.

Born on April 7, 1936, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Genevieve and Elbert Wilbur Green. She was united in marriage to Robert M. Trenum Sr., who preceded her in death.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Eleanor poured her love into her family in countless ways. She had a gift for words and music — often writing poems about her husband and her family — and she loved to sing. Those who knew her will remember the warmth, faith, and joy she carried through every season of her life.

Eleanor was a longtime member of the Piedmont Church of God, where her faith remained a steady anchor throughout her life. She was also active in her community, having proudly served as President of the Potomac Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by four children, Vivian Stefan and husband Mike of Friendsville; Rhonda Clark and late husband Lonzy; Roger Trenum and wife Shari of Westernport, Lawrence Trenum and partner Becky of Barton; daughter-in-law, Norma Trenum of Rawlings; her siblings, Catherine Wilson, Elbert Wilbur Green Jr., Judy (Peggy) Hutcheson, Emily Webb, and Walter (Bo) Green; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Genevieve and Elbert Wilbur Green; her siblings, Alvin, Roger and Virginia; her beloved husband, Robert M. Trenum Sr.; and her eldest son, Pejoe Trenum.

Family and friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home Westernpor,t on Monday, May 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 12 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Shawn Shumaker officiating.

Interment will be in Bloomington Cemetery, Bloomington.

The family takes solace in their faith, trusting that Eleanor is now at peace in God’s eternal care, and they will continue to give thanks for a life well lived and lovingly served.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Sterling Care Nursing Home in Frostburg, Maryland, for the loving care and kindness they showed Eleanor over the past eleven years.
