Edward K. "Eddie" Riggins, 81, formerly of Westernport passed away in Foley, Alabama while living with his daughter.
Born at Westernport on May 22, 1939 he was the son of the late Tracy and Wilda (Harvey) Riggins. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Tracy Riggins, Jr., Thomas Riggins and Robert Riggins.
Eddie was raised in Luke, MD. He was a 1957 graduate of Bruce High School. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, where he served in Lebanon and Japan. After serving in the military he began working at Westvaco in 1961, he retired after 32 years. Eddie served in the West Virginia National Guard with the Keyser and Romney attachments. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed watching old westerns. Eddie was colorful and leaves behind many funny stories and good memories.
Eddie is survived by his children, Rae Ann McGhee and husband, Leonard of Foley, Ala.; Brian Riggins of Bloomington; and Wade Riggins and wife Barbara of Clarksville, VA.; and his grandchildren, Jessica Tranum, Jimmy Wilson and wife Chandra all of Westernport, Zachary Riggins, Taylor Carroll and husband, David, all of Richmond, VA, and Matthew McGhee and wife Tiffany of Foley, Ala. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Marissa, Brayden, and Maleah Tranum, Kyiah, Atalie and Ryler Wilson, Isiah, Christopher and Tehya McGhee; numerous nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children and good friend, Barbara Murphy of Westernport.
Eddie will be cremated and a service will be held at a later date.
