Dorothy Maxine Brode, 77, of Shady Lane, Westernport, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born July 1, 1938 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Haywood Jr., and the late Rosalie (Harvey) Haywood.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Brode, brothers-in-law, Don Brode, Jack Brode and Tom Malcolm.

Dorothy was retired from First United Bank and Trust with 15 years of service.  She was a member of Kelly Mansfield Post #52 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.  She was Methodist by faith.

She leaves behind a son, Scott Brode of Morgantown, WV, a daughter, Terri Weaver and fiancée Mark Friend of Oakland, a sister, Marilyn Malcolm of Elk Garden, WV, two grandchildren, Jason Weaver of Oakland and Shane Weaver of Morgantown, WV and a special great granddaughter, Jayden Weaver of Oakland.  She is also survived by an aunt, Connie Domenic of Oakland, a special sister-in-law, caregiver and friend, Shirley Brode of Westernport, a special friend, Bill Paitsel of Keyser, WV, and friends, Sonnie McDowell of Piedmont, WV, Helen Michael, Janie and Elwood Cole, and Tara Hanlin all of Westernport, and several nieces and nephews.

At Dorothy’s request, her body was cremated.

There will be no visitation or services.

If you wish to offer condolences, the family would like memorial contributions be made to the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad, Westernport or the Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, WV.

Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, is in charge of arrangements.
