Cheryl Lea (Duncan) Farrell

Cheryl Lea (Duncan) Farrell, 72 of Lonaconing passed away on September 10, 2026.

Born October 6, 1953, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Virginia (Moore) Duncan. She was also preceded in death by her Aunt Lois “Sis”, and Uncle Billy.

Known affectionately as “Unsie,” she was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by strength, dedication, and an unwavering love for others. A gifted athlete in her younger years, she excelled in both softball and basketball, carrying that same competitive spirit and determination throughout her life. She spent her career caring for others and became the devoted caretaker of the elderly members of her family, always putting their needs before her own. Her greatest joy, however, was being a grandmother. For more than 20 years, she could be found proudly sitting on the sidelines, in the stands, and in the audience, cheering on her grandchildren through countless seasons of softball, baseball, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, and robotics. She never missed an opportunity to support them, and her presence was a constant reminder of just how deeply she loved her family. Unsie was a caregiver, a competitor, a cheerleader, and above all, a loving grandmother whose legacy will live on in the lives of everyone she touched.

Cheryl is survived by her daughters, Crystal Warner of Cumberland and Teresa Parker and husband Eric of Cumberland. Cheryl is also survived by her siblings, Daniel Duncan and wife Cheryl, Mike Duncan, and Jimmy Duncan and wife Carol; her grandchildren, Michael Femi and wife Samantha, Brandi Shelton, Skai Shelton, Alexis Johnston, Colton Parker, Easton Parker and Lennon Parker; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cheryl’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her cousin, Todd and wife, Alma and John Buckholz and family, for their kindness, support and willingness to always lend a hand.

Friends and family are welcome to come together and share memories of Cheryl at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Sunday, September 20th from 2 to 4 p.m.
