Charles “Charlie” L. Kalbaugh Jr., 64, of Leesburg, VA, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on October 26, 1949 in Keyser, West Virginia he was the son of the late Charles Lee Kalbaugh, the late Genevieve Yvonne Hamilton and the late Marshall Paul Broadwater.
Charlie graduated from Bruce High School in 1967. He was a United States Army Veteran and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2005 after 37 years of service. Charlie also served as Commander of The American Legion Post 293 in Purcellville, VA.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia Kalbaugh; children, Tracy Gallagher and her husband, Brian of Leesburg, VA, Kevin Kalbaugh and his wife, Olivia of Leesburg, VA and Eric Kalbaugh of Leesburg, VA; grandchildren, Gaby, Adriana, Brady, Sophia and Brooke. In addition, he is survived by his sisters, Sandy Shay and her husband, Paul of Severn, MD, Karen Kelly and her husband, Paul of Westernport, MD and brother Marshall Broadwater of Westernport, MD. He also had many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Boal Funeral Home in Westernport, MD.
Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport with military honors accorded at graveside.
