Charles Riley, 81, of Bloomington, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at his residence.

Born on October 12, 1932 in Shalmar, he was the son of the late Charles Riley Sr. and the late Bessie (Nelson) Riley.  He was also preceded in death by three brothers, LeRoy Riley, Ernest Riley, and an infant brother, as well as three sisters, Juanita Fagan, Norma Lee Cooper, and Delores Pettit, and a daughter-in-law, Janet Riley.

Charles was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.  He retired as a shift foreman in 1993 from Westvaco Corp, with 38 years of service. He was a 60 year member of the Bloomington Volunteer Fire Company, a member of Bloomington United Methodist Church, a member of Queens Point V.F.W. #6775, McCoole, the American Legion Post #71, Oakland, and a member of the Oakland Country Club.

He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Carol (Warnick) Riley, a sister, Frances Hardesty of Bloomington, a brother, Darl Riley of Moran Manor Nursing Center, three children, Terry Riley of Rawlings, Gary Riley and wife Susie of Barton, and Sandi Cottrell and husband Larry of Bloomington.  He is also survived by six grandchildren, Tiffany Rowe and husband Marty, Misty Felton and husband Steve, Tara Cottrell and husband Sohn, Jennifer Hollenberg and husband Adam, Brittany White and husband Justin, and Tyler Cottrell, and two step grandchildren, Shanna James and husband Scott and Larry Cottrell II and wife Liz, and fourteen great grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday from 4 to 8 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Gary Rankin officiating.

Interment will be in Bloomington Cemetery with full military honors accorded by American legion Post #71.
