Carroll Eston Broadwater, 82, of Barton, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at his residence.
He was born February 25, 1937, in Franklin, MD, to the late Eston and Ethel (Howell) Broadwater. He was a 1955 graduate of Southern High School in Garrett County, Maryland. A Veteran, Carroll served in the Armed Forces of the United States from June 1956 until April 1958 in Korea. On March 4, 1961, he married the love of his life, Marlene (Sutherland), and they raised two sons, Terry and Randy, and a daughter, Lisa.
Carroll worked for twenty years at Kelly Springfield Tire Company, and twenty years at Quarry Ridge Asphalt Belt Paving Company. He was a member, deacon, and van driver at First Assembly of God Westernport, MD.
Loved dearly by his family and friends, Carroll was preceded in death by his eldest son, Terry Broadwater, parents, Eston and Ethel Broadwater, and his beloved sister, Brenda Broadwater. He is survived by his sweetheart and wife, Marlene, and his two children Randy (Amie), Cheyenne, OK, and daughter, Lisa (Frank) Potter, Warrenton, VA, and special daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Broadwater, Martinsburg, WV. He was endeared as “Pap” by his nine grandchildren, Casey Broadwater (Seattle, WA), Corey Broadwater (Falling Waters, WV), Lindsay Potter (Fairfax, VA), Andrew Potter (Bishop, CA), Cayla (Broadwater) Holloman (Denver, CO), Sarah (Broadwater) Hensley, Sam Broadwater, Aaron Broadwater, and Emma Broadwater, all of Cheyenne, OK. He thoroughly enjoyed visits and FaceTime with his five great-grandchildren, Maddox, Elin, Aiden, Edda, and Eston Broadwater.
Carroll’s siblings played an important role in his life. Mahlon Broadwater (Pahrump, NV), Ruth Hayes (Baltimore, MD), Elaine Norris, Cresaptown, MD, and Roger Broadwater (Shrewsbury, PA).
The family invites you to a visitation at Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Tuesday, November 5, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at First Assembly of God, Westernport, MD, at 11:00 a.m. and visitation at 10:00 a.m.
The Committal Service is on Wednesday at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery.
