Carrie Elizabeth Shewbridge, 87, of Ormand St, Frostburg, formerly of Nikep, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Cumberland Healthcare Center.
Born February 22, 1930 in Pekin, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Carrie (Kifer) Beeman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Philip Shewbridge, and two sisters, Ruth Foley and Barbara Wilson.
Mrs. Shewbridge was a homemaker, and retired from Bennett & Associates Transfer, having been a secretary.
A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she leaves behind a son, Harry Andrew Shewbridge and wife Rose of Cumberland, a daughter, Victoria Glass and companion, Cecil Rounds of Frostburg, grandchildren, Jesse Glass (Heather), Jaimee Glass (Charlie), Katrina Shewbridge (Jason), Garrett Shewbridge, Antonio, Jeremiah, David, Darlene and Nakita. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Bailey and Gavin Glass, nieces and nephews, Beverly and Chris Wilson, Tim Saneman, and a brother-in-law, Emory Wilson.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Wednesday, October 4th from 6 to 8 PM, with a funeral service to immediately follow the visitation on Wednesday at 8:00 PM, with Rev. Butch Wright officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap, at a later date.
