Carolyn Sue Bittinger

Carolyn Sue (Bowers) Leatherman Bittinger, 84 went to be with our Lord, Monday, November 27^th. Sue was born in Clifftop, WV to Mable and Ona David Bowers. Sue lived most of her life in Westernport and Frostburg.

   Sue worked as a seamstress for over 40 years. First for SewRite in Keyser WV, then at Schwabs in LaVale MD. Sue was a faithful member of Trinity Assembly of God Church, Midlothian, MD, where she had many dear friends.

     Sue survived many trials, beginning at birth weighing just over 2lbs, she went on to survive breast cancer in 2000, and brain cancer in 2016. As her brothers say, “she was tougher than an old pine knot!”

   Sue was preceded in death by her parents, an infant twin sister, Peggy Lou, and by her first husband, and father of her only child, Donald C Leatherman of Keyser, WV.

     Sue is survived by her loving daughter Donna Sue (Leatherman) Dorsey, and husband, David; three grandchildren, whom she cherished, Jarrod Dorsey, Jourdan (Dorsey) Kehr, and husband, Justin, and Wade Dorsey and wife Lindsay; four great-grandsons, Dexter, Anders, Waylon and Johnse, all of Hagerstown, MD. She is also survived by her three devoted brothers, Jack Bowers, and wife Thelma, and Gary Bowers, and wife, Lana, both of Ft Ashby, WV, and David “Tinker’’ Bowers, and wife, Angela, of Keyser, WV, and one sister, Dixie Zais, and husband Woody of Westernport, MD; many dear nieces and nephews.

      Per her wishes, she will be cremated.

      A memorial service will take place at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD on Thursday, December 7^th at 2:00p.m.

     Memorial donations may be made in Sue’s name to St Jude Children’s Research, or Trinity Assembly of God Church, Midlothian, MD.
