Carl Edward “Buck” Bittinger, 80 of Rawlings passed away on November 20, 2020 at Piney Valley in Keyser, WV.
Born March 2, 1940, he was the son of the late Carl and Bernadine (Broadwater) Bittinger. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 40 years and Mother of his children, Genevieve (Harris) Bittinger and his girlfriend Donna “Chick” Perkins.
Buck held many occupations throughout his life, the last 20 years of his working career he was a roof bolter at Metikki Coal Company. After retirement he liked to collect aluminum cans and copper wire. He always enjoyed tinkering around in his workshop. Buck loved talking to people, he rarely met a stranger, and there was always some type of connection with everyone he talked with. He was a very helpful person, so very kind with a generous heart. Buck loved his family and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Bittinger is survived by his children, Mark Bittinger and girlfriend, Margaret Kuhn of Cumberland, Rodney Bittinger and wife, Tammy of Barton, Roger Winner and husband Scott of Maplewood, NJ and Candace Booth and husband, Bernard “Pete” Booth of Barton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Aaron and husband Joshua, Krystal and husband, Derick, Patrick, Joshua, Daniel, Jayden, Ian, Addisen; and his great grandchildren, Elli, Isabella, Abigail, Ireland, Kiley and Marley. Mr. Bittinger is survived by his siblings, Frances Pratt of Angola, NY, Donna McKenzie-Pyles of Frostburg, Christina Poland of Oldtown and Randel Bittinger and wife, Kimberly of North Carolina; his Aunt Orpha Belford of Paw Paw, WV and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Family and friends will be received at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Tuesday, November 24th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will take place following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Kris Lengel officiating.
Interment will be at Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV.
In accordance with health regulations at this time, face coverings must be worn in the funeral home.
