Bonnie Lee (Miller) Legge, 79 of Maryland Ave, Westernport, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the home of her daughter, Diann, in Ellerslie.

Born August 23, 1938 in Moorefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Lila (Barr) Miller.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Legge in 2014.

Bonnie was a graduate of Moorefield High School, Moorefield, WV, and Alderson Broaddus University, Philippi, WV.  She also received a Master’s in Education from Frostburg State University and Master’s in Nursing from University of Maryland.  She taught 2nd year nursing at Allegany Community College, Cumberland for 20 years.  Bonnie retired as a Clinical Rehabilitation Nurse Specialist, having been instrumental in getting rehabilitation services at the former Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.  She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, WV, where she was a member of the church choir and formerly served as a trustee.

She leaves behind a son, Charles R. “Dick” Legge and wife Marcy of Westernport, a daughter, Diann Legge Grove and husband Richard Charles of Ellerslie, a sister, Eleanor Bond of Baker, WV, seven grandchildren, T.J. Jackson, Sarah Legge, Brian Legge and fiancé Laura Freeman, Josh Cosgrove, Kadi Cosgrove, Kyler Cosgrove and Alex Cosgrove.  She is also survived by a great grandchild, Skylar Jackson.

At Mrs. Legge’s request, her body was cremated.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday, September 7th from 5 to 7 PM.  A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation at 7:00 PM, with Rev. Steve Grimes officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church, Jones St, Piedmont, WV.  26750
