Betty Eleanor Lee McRobie, 82, of 51 Jones St, Piedmont, passed away Sunday January 3, 2016 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, MD.

Born March 14, 1933 in Westernport, MD, she was the daughter of the late Arthur V. and Ethel Mae (Peer) Pope.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McRobie, an infant daughter, Wanda McRobie along with two other daughters, Sheila Everett and Linda Metcalf, a sister, Anna Mae Kidwell, and her foster mother, Myrtle H. Miller.

Eleanor was a graduate of Fairmont High School.  She was co-owner along with her husband of the Food-O-Rama in Piedmont.  Eleanor was an avid volunteer throughout the area having been a member of the Tri-Towns Soroptimist Club, the Pythian Sisters, and a Girl Scout leader in Burlington, WV.  She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, she started the soup kitchen, was a grandmother with the after school program and was a cook for the “come as you are” dinners.

She leaves behind a daughter, Pam Arnold and husband Ron Jr. of Westernport, MD, her grandchildren, Jamie Purdy and husband Jon Paul of Inwood, Angela Tucker and husband Tommy of Romney, Kelly Metcalf and boyfriend, Billy Zacot of Keyser, Brandy Ryder and husband Justin of Clarksburg, Travis Metcalf and wife Candice of Ridgeville, Shannon Metcalf Ramirez and husband Rick of Round Rock, TX, Kirstin Mellott and husband Jordan of Canton, OH, Brandon Everett and fiancée Bre of Fairmont, and Casey Arnold and boyfriend, Andrew Lewis of Keyser.  She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Hunter and Paige Winkler, Ian Purdy, Andrew, Allison and Jaxen Ryder, Isaac and Carson Metcalf, Lance Tucker and Zander Mellott, and her sons-in-law, Chuck Metcalf and Ronnie Everett.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD on Wednesday, January 6th from 5 PM to 8 PM.

A funeral service will be conducted at Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, on Thursday, January 7th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Steve Grimes officiating.  Friends and family will be received at the church on Thursday from 10 AM to 11 AM.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
