Betty Ann Garey

Betty Ann (Chappell) Garey, 79, of Barton, went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2024.

Born September 14, 1944 in Frostburg, Betty was the daughter of James E. and Evelyn (Russell) Chappell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Martha Clise, Evelyn “Jean” McElvie, Shirley Clark, Gilberta “Bertie” Bradley; and two brothers, James “Jimmy” Chappell and Charles “Charlie” Chappell.

Surviving Betty are her sons, Kevin Garey and wife Carrie, Scott Garey and wife Dawn; grandchildren Jessica Bruchey and husband Justin, Payton Garey, Campbell Garey, and Tanner Garey; sister-in-law, Marion Chappell; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Betty graduated from Valley High School class of 1962. She worked as a bank teller for 37 years. She enjoyed cross stitching and watching QVC. Above all, Betty’s greatest happiness came from caring for her family.

Friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Wednesday, August 7th from 4 to 6 p.m.

A funeral service will follow the visitation at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Sandy Cowan officiating.
