Barbara J. Raines

Barbara J. Raines, 85, of Lonaconing passed away on October 2, 2026.

Born December 6, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Lillian (Wilt) Sutherland. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Raines; and her siblings, Calvin Sutherland, Vernon Sutherland, Harold Sutherland, and Nina Broadwater.

Barbara was loved by so many people. She could light up any room with her personality and big heart. Barbara was a great person, mother and grandma, life will not be the same without her.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Jerry Raines and wife Michelle, and Robert Raines; her sisters, Doris Whiteman and Jean Custer; her grandchildren, Jerry Raines Jr., Jessica Raines, Russell Raines and Tiffany Raines, her great-grandchildren; Mackenzie, Bryce, Rhoman, Hayden, Amelia and Kylen; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Wednesday, October 7th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 4:00 p.m. with Lee Thompson officiating.

A memorial service will take place at the Kingdom Hall, 24400 McMullen Highway, on October 17th at 1:00 p.m.
