Barbara Elizabeth Clark, 76, formerly of Old Miller Road, Barton, and most recently of Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, Lonaconing, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, after a courageous battle with Parkinsons disease.

Born March 17, 1937 in Keyser, WV, she was the daughter of the late Claude Rupert Burke and Lillian (Michael) Burke Miller.  She was also preceded in death by her son, James E. Clark Jr., a sister, Janie Doolan, her step father, John Miller, and her aunt, June Leatherman.

Barbara was a homemaker.  She was a member of Mill Run Grace Brethren Church, a member of Barton American Legion #189 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the George’s Creek Senior Citizens.  She enjoyed her flowers, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

She leaves behind her husband, James E. Clark Sr., three children, Karen Wertz and husband John of Cumberland, Steve Clark and wife Melanie of Vandalia, OH, Scott Clark and wife Becki of LaVale, and a daughter-in-law, Kay Clark of Mill Run.  She is also survived by two brothers, Mike Burke of Florida, John Miller and wife Claire of Baltimore, a sister, Claudia Beeman and husband Don of Barton, twelve grandchildren, Jamie Clark and wife Holly, Megan Hall and husband Brandon, Peyton Clark, Riley Clark, Katy Clark, Carson Clark, Johnny Wertz, Aaron Wertz, Paxton Wertz, Tanner Wertz, Dylan Clark, Delayni Clark, one great grandson, Landon James Clark, and a special cousin whom she considered her daughter, Mary Beth Bennett and husband Harry and their family, Brian and wife Susan, Jason Bennett, and Lauren and husband Tim.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the Boal Chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Earl Trimble and Rev. John Magargee officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the James E. Clark Jr., Scholarship Fund, C/O First United Bank and Trust, Piedmont, WV.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staffs at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center and to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for the compassion and care given to Barbara during her stays there.
