Anthony Francis “Tony” Serpone Sr., 62, of West Hampshire St, Piedmont, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.
Born February 23, 1953 in Keyser, he was the son of Mary “Daisy” (Sudine) Serpone of Piedmont and the late Frank Serpone.
Tony was a 1971 graduate of Piedmont High School. He retired from the Piedmont Housing Authority with 36 years of service. He was a social member of Kelly Mansfield Post #52 American Legion, Piedmont. Tony was well known in the area for putting on a fireworks display on the 4th of July in Piedmont.
In addition to his mother, “Daisy” Serpone, he leaves behind a son, Anthony “T.J.” Serpone Jr. and wife Taylor of Keyser, a brother, Mike Serpone of Cumberland, MD, a grandchild, Kensley Serpone, two nephews, Patrick and Michael Serpone, and a niece, Autumn Serpone.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD, on Tuesday, June 9th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, June 10th at 1:00 PM, with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating.
