Allen Wayne Custer

Allen Wayne “Butch” Custer, 81 of Swanton passed away on June 5, 2025.

Born March 17, 1944, he was the son of the late Gaver and Clara (Paugh) Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Cecil Custer.

Allen served in the United States Air Force. During his service to the country, he was stationed at the Dover Air Force Base during the Vietnam War.

Allen enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Allen was survived by his children, Jared Custer and wife Angie and their children, Colbie, Norah and Hannah; Scott Custer and wife Sarah and their children, Claire and a child on the way; Carrie Wolford and husband Jimmy and their children, Emma, Rachel and Jonathan; Allen Michael Custer and wife Libby and their children Jaxon and Henry; Christopher Custer and Anna Custer. He is also survived by his siblings, Dwight Wilson, Paul “Russ” Wilson and wife Claudia, Karen “Pixie” Riggleman and husband Fred, Myrna Edmonson and husband Jackie, Paula Tasker and husband Chris, and Riley “Bud” Wilson and wife Wanda. Allen is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Saturday, June 21st from 2 to 4 p.m. A memorial service honoring Allen will take place following the visitation at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Allie Crowe officiating.

Allen’s cremated remains will be laid to rest alongside his parents at the Paugh Family Cemetery in Swanton.
