Allen Broadwater

Allen Gerald Broadwater, 78, of 421 Hammond St, Westernport, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at his residence.

Born April 1, 1937 in Grantsville, he was the son of the late Howard and Theresa (Broadwater) Broadwater.  He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dean, Kenny, and Eddie Broadwater and a great granddaughter, Alyvia Albright.

Allen was a retired self-employed welder, having worked mainly on heavy equipment.  During his younger years he was an avid hunter, fisherman and mushroom hunter.  As of late he enjoyed playing his guitar.

He leaves behind his longtime companion of 30 plus years, Betty Baker, one son, Rick Broadwater and wife Debbie of Westernport, three daughters, Kathy Bever and husband Danny of Swanton, Cindy Broadwater of Cumberland, and Vicki White and husband Richy of Bloomington.  He is also survived by a brother, Paul Broadwater and wife Veinna of Mill Run, two sisters, Pearl Shillingburg of Arizona, Rose Courtney of Keyser, WV, his grandchildren, Kailee, Andrea, Adam and Kyah Broadwater, Shari Forney and husband Greg, Krissy Dowden and husband Jon, Latesha Durst and husband Tony, Steven, Jason, and Holli Johnson, Jennifer, Nicolas, and Tifenie Broadwater, Jesse Ridings, Ricky White, Matthew White and wife Sarah, Tyler White, Miranda Mowbray and husband Eric, and seventeen great grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 1:00 PM.

Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
