Alice Anna Smith, 80, of Lupton Drive, Martinsburg, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.
Born January 1, 1937 in Beryl, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Kidwell) Beeman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Earl “Ping” Smith, a brother, Michael Beeman, three sisters, Beatrice Armentrout, Rose Brown, and Colleen Fazenbaker and a grandson, Matthew Earl Caulkins.
Anna was devoted to homemaking and caring for those that she loved. She enjoyed raising children and taking road trips. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish St. Peters Catholic Church, Westernport, MD, and had attended St. Leo The Great Catholic Church in Inwood, WV.
She leaves behind a daughter, Kimberly Wood and husband John of Winchester, VA, a son, Charles Smith and wife Brooke of Inwood, WV, and a sister, Jean Marple and husband Leon of Bloomington, MD. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kayla Caulkins, Mason May, Charlotte Smith, and Alice Smith, and a great grandson, Dakota Caulkins, whom she cared for from his infancy.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD, on Monday, March 13th from 6 to 8 PM and Tuesday, March 14th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Parish St. Peters Church, Westernport, MD, on Wednesday, March 15th at 11:00 AM, with Father Edward Hendricks as celebrant.
Entombment will be at Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV.
