Alice Dorothy Ashby, 90, formerly of Barton, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, Lonaconing, where she had been a resident.
Born February 7, 1925 in Barton, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Alice (Scollick) Russell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James “Junior” Ashby, and a son, Dennis Ashby.
Mrs. Ashby was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Barton, and a member of Barton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She leaves behind a brother-in-law, Sam Metz of Barton, a sister-in-law, Carolyn Phillips of Lonaconing, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Saturday from 5 PM to 7 PM. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the Boal Chapel on Saturday at 7:00 PM. with Rev. Thomas Morgan officiating.
Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills, at a later date.
