Sara “Rae” Warnick, 87, of Lonaconing, passed away on July 18, 2019, at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born August 26, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William and Jessie (Faichen) Gilfillan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leslie “Ike” Warnick; her brothers, Tommy Gilfillan, Bill Gilfillan; and her twin sister, Anne Thayer.
Rae worked at Bower Roller Bearing in Detroit, Michigan for 20 years before starting a family with her husband. Rae was very involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives. She was once a Girl Scout leader, a member of the George’s Creek PTA as well as the Valley High Band Boosters. When she was able, she enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Rae was also an active member of the Goodwill Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Rae is survived by her daughters, Karen Diehl and Linda Wolodkin, both of Cumberland. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Austin, Caleb and Daniel Diehl and their father, Darren; and Gina and Josh Wolodkin and their father, Mark.
Family and friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Sunday, July 21st from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Monday, July 22nd at 11:00 am.
Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Boal Funeral Home to assist with defraying funeral expenses.
